This past weekend Marije and I saw the rise of the ‘super moon’, which is a full moon that’s just a little bigger than usual, and therefore a little brighter and a little more beautiful. Because a full moonrise always happens around sunset we went to the beach to witness the two spectacles in style.
Moonrises are a bit of a specialty of mine, I always calculate the exact location and time so I can frame the shot just the way I want it, providing there are no clouds that get in the way. As Marije was combing the beach for sea glass, I kept my eyes on the horizon to catch the first glimpse. When I called her to tell her the moon was rising she looked up and immediately spun around, smiling at the sight of it:
I continued shooting the rising moon for about ten minutes and got some great photos for my steadily growing PEI portfolio, before I turned around to get some shots of the sunset colours in the sky and on the water:
What a super evening! 🙂
